Build me an Android app for reading manga, webtoons, and comics. It should be a full-featured, open-source reader, not an app that hosts its own content. The main thing is that people can use it to discover and read from various sources on their phones.

The reader itself should be really configurable, letting users pick different viewing modes and reading directions. I want users to be able to organize their collections into categories and have the app automatically check for new chapter releases. It should also support tracking progress on sites like MyAnimeList and AniList.

Please include both light and dark themes. We'll also need a way for users to create local backups of their library data, which they could then save to a cloud service for safekeeping. This should be a native Android app built with Kotlin, and it needs to work on Android 8.0 and up.
