Build me a fast, minimalist desktop video editor that feels snappy and simple, kind of like a lightweight Clipchamp alternative.
I want to be able to import videos by drag and drop or file picker, trim and cut clips, stack them on a multitrack timeline, add text overlays, and preview everything in a canvas before exporting. It should support frame by frame editing, splitting at the playhead, moving and resizing clips, audio waveforms, audio scrubbing, and undo and redo. I also want a command palette, keyboard shortcuts, and a clean interface that makes editing feel instant instead of sluggish.
For export, support common formats like MP4, WebM, MOV, and GIF, and try to use lossless fast export when possible. Save and open projects in a small local project file. Use a native desktop shell with a modern web UI, and if you need to, look up the current docs for the desktop tooling and FFmpeg integration online.
