navopw/nicer-tab — reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a Chrome and Firefox new tab extension called Nicer Tab that replaces the normal new tab page with a clean visual bookmark manager.

I want it to show my browser bookmarks as nice cards with favicons, fallback initials when there’s no icon, and different card sizes. Include a sidebar folder tree that can collapse, be resized, and show bookmark counts. Let me click folders, search all bookmarks instantly, and see results grouped by where they live.

It should let me manage bookmarks without leaving the page, create, edit, delete, duplicate, open, copy URLs, and create folders. Add drag and drop so I can reorder things or move bookmarks into folders, with a confirmation if I’m moving across folders.

Please include light, dark, and system themes, accent color presets plus a custom color picker, custom favicon URL overrides, and JSON import and export for backups. Use the real browser bookmarks and storage APIs so changes sync with the browser. Use React, TypeScript, and WXT. Look up current docs online if needed.
