Build me a Rust command line tool that turns my git history into a clean changelog file.
I want it to understand Conventional Commits out of the box, but also let me customize how commits are grouped and labeled with simple config files and templates. It should be able to scan a repo, pick up releases between tags, and generate or update a changelog in a format that I can make match my project’s style. If a commit message doesn’t follow the standard format, I still want a way to catch it with custom rules.
Make it feel polished and ready for real use, with good defaults, clear help text, and support for common release workflows. If anything about the latest Rust docs or templating behavior matters, look it up online as you build it.
