roadrunner-server/roadrunner ? reverse-engineered prompt

Reverse engineered prompt

Build me a high performance PHP application server and process manager, something like RoadRunner, that runs as a long lived service and talks to PHP worker scripts over RPC. I want it to be easy to start from a simple config file, with an HTTP server, support for PSR 7 style request and response handling, and a clean way to swap in extra features with plugins.

Please make it able to serve normal web requests, support HTTPS if needed, and include a basic worker lifecycle with auto restarts, time limits, and logging. If it makes sense, add a simple metrics endpoint and a few useful middlewares like static files, headers, gzip, and request tracing. Keep it production ready, but still easy to run locally or in Docker.

Use the existing docs and examples as guidance, and look up current best practices online if you need to. I’d also like a sample config and a tiny PHP worker example so I can try it right away.
