rommapp/romm ? reverse-engineered prompt

I want to build a self-hosted app for my retro game collection, something that works like Plex but for video game ROMs. It should have a a really nice, modern web interface that I can use on my computer or my phone.

The main feature is that it should scan a directory of my game files, automatically identify them, and then fetch all the cool metadata from the web. I'm talking about cover art from sources like SteamGridDB, game info from IGDB, and maybe even show my achievements from Retroachievements. It should be smart enough to handle things like multi-disk games and different versions.

A killer feature would be the ability to play the games directly in the browser. The whole thing should be easy to run on my server, so please create it using Docker. It also needs a simple user system so I can share my library with a few friends.
