sanju726392-code/LikeUp ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a full stack social media app called LikeUp with a modern, polished look and a dark purple and blue theme. I want users to be able to sign up, log in, edit profiles, follow and unfollow people, create posts and stories, like and comment on posts, and get notifications when something happens.

Please also include real time direct messaging so users can chat instantly, plus a clean feed and profile pages that feel like a modern social app. Make it responsive so it works well on desktop and mobile, and keep the interface simple and easy to use. Use a React front end with a Node, Express, MongoDB backend, and Socket.IO for live messaging and updates. If you need to check current docs or best practices while building, go ahead and look them up online.
