I want to build a modern, cross-platform file explorer that can organize files across all my devices. It should feel like a unified library for everything I have, whether it's on my Mac, a Windows PC, a Linux server, or even in cloud storage like Google Drive or S3.

The main idea is to treat files based on their content, not just their location. The app should be smart enough to recognize when I have the same photo or document in multiple places and help me manage the duplicates. I want to be able to search through everything instantly and organize with flexible tags.

It must be offline-first, syncing directly between my devices using peer-to-peer networking when they're on the same network. I'd also like a feature that previews any file operation, showing me what will be moved or deleted before I commit. The core logic should be robust, maybe written in something like Rust for performance, with a clean UI built for desktop.
