substance/texture ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a visual editor for scientific manuscripts that lets people open, edit, and save article content without having to work directly in XML.

It should work with JATS based files, or the stricter DAR format, and make it easy to load a manuscript, edit the text and structure, then save the changes back out cleanly. I want it to feel like a normal document editor, but be reliable enough for research and publishing workflows.

Please include a simple way to try it with a sample article, and make it possible to replace that sample with my own manuscript file. If it makes sense, add a desktop version too so people can use it like an app. Keep the interface clean and focused on writing, structuring, and reviewing scientific content. If you need to check the latest docs for the XML format or anything related, look them up online as you build it.
