Build me a small FastAPI app that I can turn into an MCP server so my endpoints show up as tools for Claude or Cursor.

I want it to work with very little setup, just point it at the existing FastAPI app and expose the routes through an MCP endpoint. Please keep the request and response schemas intact, and make sure the endpoint descriptions from FastAPI still come through nicely.

Auth matters, so use normal FastAPI dependencies for protecting the MCP tools too, not some separate auth system. It should be easy to mount into the same app, but if it’s simpler, also support running the MCP server separately.

Please include a couple of simple example endpoints and make sure the whole thing is easy to run locally and test. If you need to check the latest MCP or FastAPI docs online, go ahead.
