Build me a terminal based SQL app that feels like a real little IDE in the shell.
I want it to open right from the command line, connect to DuckDB by default, and also work with SQLite and other database connections through installable adapters. It should have a clean text interface where I can write SQL, run queries, browse tables and schemas, and see results nicely formatted in the terminal. I’d also like a way to open local database files, use saved profiles from config files, and keep passwords and other secrets out of the file by pulling them from environment variables.
Please include a companion command for headless use called hsql, so scripts and agents can run queries without the full interface. That command should be able to print query results, inspect the catalog, search across schemas, and support read only mode plus a timeout for safety. Make it feel polished, easy to use, and well suited for everyday database work in the terminal.
