timescale/timescaledb ? reverse-engineered prompt

Build me a local TimescaleDB setup from this repo so I can run it on my machine and try it with sample time series data.

I want to be able to start the database easily, connect with psql, create a hypertable for sensor readings, insert a bunch of fake data, and run a few example analytics queries like averages over time, hourly buckets, daily stats, and latest reading per sensor. Please make sure columnstore is enabled in the example so the queries feel fast on a large dataset.

If anything needs current setup steps or docs, look them up online and keep the instructions simple. I’d also like clear notes on how to build it from source, how to run it locally, and what I should expect to see when it works.
