typicode/husky ? reverse-engineered prompt

Reverse engineered prompt

Build me a tiny JavaScript tool called Husky that makes Git hooks easy to set up and use, without a lot of config. I want it to feel native to Git, stay very small and fast, and work on Mac, Linux, and Windows. It should let someone install it in a project, add common hooks like pre commit, commit message, and pre push, and have those hooks run simple shell commands.

Please make it work well in normal repos, nested projects, and monorepos, and not break when people use Git apps or different Node versions. It should support all the usual client side Git hooks, allow branch specific behavior, and give clear friendly error messages when something goes wrong. I also want a simple way to turn hooks on or off when needed.

Include a clean CLI, sensible defaults, TypeScript types if appropriate, tests, and docs that show setup, migration notes, and real examples. Look up current Git hook docs online if you need to.
