Build me a customizable rich text editor toolkit for web apps, similar in spirit to Tiptap. I don’t want a fixed visual editor with a locked in toolbar. I want the editing engine to be headless so I can design any UI around it.

It should work nicely with React, Vue, and plain JavaScript, and the main idea should be extensions. A developer should be able to add things like text styling, headings, lists, links, custom blocks, commands, and drag and drop editing without rewriting the whole editor.

Please include a clean core, a few starter extensions, and simple demo pages that show a basic editor and a more advanced editor. Make the API feel friendly and predictable, with good TypeScript support and clear examples. Also leave room for collaboration features through a separate backend later, but don’t build paid features or anything subscription based.

Look up current docs online if you need to, and make the project easy to run locally.
