Build me a modern terminal file manager that feels fast and polished, something I can use instead of my usual shell file browsing.

I want it to run in the terminal, let me move around folders, open files, copy, paste, rename, delete, create new files and folders, and do the usual file manager stuff without feeling clunky. Make it look nice, with a clean interface, good keyboard navigation, and sensible default shortcuts, but also let me customize the hotkeys and theme. It should work well on Linux and macOS, and be usable on Windows too even if that’s not perfect yet.

Please include support for plugins or extensions if that fits, and make it easy to configure from a simple settings file. If you need to check current docs or examples online, go ahead. I’d also like a way to build and run it locally from the source code.
