Build me a browser based artificial life simulation called HEXOLUTION.

I want a simple but polished interactive game where little agents live on a hex style world, move around, eat, reproduce, and evolve over time. It should feel alive, with the simulation running on a canvas and the user able to pause, reset, speed it up, and watch what happens. Make it look clean and modern, with some basic stats like population, generations, and maybe average traits so I can see the evolution happening.

Keep it easy to launch locally and make it work well in the browser. If you need to look up current docs online while building it, go ahead. I care more about the experience being fun to watch and smooth to use than about lots of complicated features.
